Last night – it was interesting to say the least. August 24, 2007

Well, last night was a success. Dan, Andy, Tim, Gareth and myself (representing re:hope) completely destroyed the other team at Battlefield 2. We did…obviously… go easy on them, and of course… I was special forces, again.
So, just to clarify about the week before that… because apparently certain lower ranked individuals believed I was the reason why we lost that week. Yes – I was special forces – It could be said that it’s part of my job to take out their UAV, Sat, and Arty – however, that’s on the basis that the rest of the team are doing their jobs and not leaving the main base (with our only tank, might I add) defenceless. So, next time… if you want me to take out the enemy’s home base… make sure and defend ours.
So, apart from our glorious victory last night, the only other exciting thing that happened was once Gareth and I got off the train. 2 guys jumped us, and for their trouble – got a beating (all in self defence of course). I’m actually sick of how this place is going to the dogs. Apparently the police don’t have control of the streets anymore??? Let’s see… 2 stabbings in the last week, plus us being jumped for no reason what so ever?

As much as it pains me to say this… and how I regret having blog about this…
Dan… you made a mistake.
I’ll make it short and sweet. I wouldn’t want you to have to endure this humiliating (for you, that is) blog. Not only did we absolutely destroy you at BF2 last night… but you were in denial about the fact that we would, before we even got there. I believe the line was…”Jones, at least my name is in the bible!”
*Silence*
I even think Mr Ingraham tried to hold back the laughter… but no, the moment was to priceless to be ignored. So, now that we’ve got that out of the way… we’ll move on to my ‘I killed Dan’ moment of the week:
As usual, Dan had resorted to driving about in an armoured vehicle, due to a lack of skill and experience in the art of infantry tactics. 50 seconds to go, and it would all be over. The battle was their’s. But the War was far from over. 30 seconds to go. Dan in my sights – C4 in hand. He drives past, I run… in a futile attempt to try and catch him and it was there that he made his biggest mistake… he stopped moving – which of course allowed me to plaster some C4 explosive on his tank… wander away at a leisurely pace, turn around, trigger in hand…
5….4….3….2…. BOOM!
Bye bye Dan, cya in 2 weeks.
BF2 games night – 1/02/07 February 2, 2007

Well, It just dawned on me… last night had to be the best LAN night ever.
As much as I hate to admit it, Ingraham and Ashworth were playing good… our team was playing decently for a change…etc. Dan was allowed to kill me a few times, just so he could claim power over me (for the first time in his life).
But even the whole room was different. It seemed as if there was more people playing than usual – people we didn’t know. We were engaging half of microplay. It was great.
And then when pizza arrived, everyone was grabbing a Re:hope provided munchie, and generally having a good time.
Who says God isn’t in video gaming?
“I Killed Dan” (Part 1) January 19, 2007

Well… this will be brief…(because Dan’s attempt at defending himself was brief…)
I’ll keep it simple. We were in trouble. Big time. We had no armour, they had 2 tanks. My amateur friend Danny boy was of course hiding from the real infantry battle within his ‘tank’.
At first… I wasn’t sure. I ran for cover… and somehow… someone took out the tank in front. It was the opportunity I had been waiting for. Rocket ready… I ran forward to see that danny had ditched his tank and was coming for me, rocket launcher in hand(s). lol. I fired of my rocket… and missed by a mile. Now I was nervous. The situation was obviously still In my control, because I’m a much more experienced player than Daniel… but he had a rocket with my name on it, ready to launch…
He missed. And then made a fatal amateur mistake. He went for a quick weapon change… and brought out a knife. That took me by suprise. He did manage to get fairly close actually. But then, my SMG, fully locked and loaded, was out and emptying round after round of ‘Danny’s dead’ ammunition.
The moment was beautiful. And I believe that is why… I was presented the ‘I KILLED DAN’ Medal (or badge) of honour.

The new LAN/BF2 Categorie… January 15, 2007

Just to let you know… There’s now a LAN/BF2 catagorie to my blog…
The point of this isn’t to prove that I’m the absolute best at BF2 out of the re:hopians… or to boast about amazing kills I’ve had… or even…
nah, actually… that’s a lie… It’s going to contain the stories of my skill in the ways of BF2, and to encourage the rest of you re:hopians who play battlefield to spend some extra time in much needed practice.
So, watch out for this thursday… the 18th Jan 07.
I’ll be claiming the “I killed Dan” badge this week.
